Finding and Applying to Schools
Typically, students apply to colleges during the fall semester of their senior year. If you are undecided about your post-high school options, you may find these webpages helpful in searching for colleges that meet your needs: Xello and collegeboard. Check out these websites for virtual campus tours: ecampustours and theU.
The UW Help website has resources and information on the UW System schools' admission requirements, majors & programs, applying online, campus tours, college costs, financial aid, housing, and more. Wisconsin Private Colleges has similar information for all of Wisconsin's private, nonprofit colleges and universities, and Madison College is a great resource for all that Madison College (MATC) has to offer. If you are looking for online college options, you can use the Affordable Online Colleges website to explore these options.
Most students apply to colleges online. University of Wisconsin-System applications can be found at applyuw, and Madison College's application can be found at applymatc. Most other applications are easy to find on each individual college's website.
Once you have completed your college applications, be sure to send your high school transcripts to the schools you've applied to. You can do this by setting up an account with Parchment.com.

NCAA ELIGIBILITY
Students wishing to participate in athletics in college at Division I and II schools should register with the NCAA Clearinghouse sophomore year. The NCAA Clearinghouse ensures that prospective college athletes meet the NCAA academic standards to be eligible to play either Division I or Division II college-level sports.
If you are being considered for collegiate athletics by either a Division I or Division II college or university, see the NCAA Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete at: NCAA Eligibility Center.
